If you're a Quake fan, then you'll probably still be thinking about the cancelled Quake 4 expansion 'The Awakening'. It happens so many times - we get excited about something, get prepped for it arriving, and then have to live with this void that is created when it never comes to fruition.
A Quake fan called jmarshall23 (thanks DSOG) was shopping for a vintage PC on Amazon and came across the alpha version of The Awakening expansion on it. I don't know how this has happened, but as they write on GitHub, it couldn't have come at a better time for them.
'I came across this at a very sad point in my life,' says jmmarshall23, 'it was on a hard drive on a vintage computer I bought off Amazon. Literally, this essentially saved my life. I was going through a divorce and just happened to come across something like this was insane.'
