It's officially the Spooky Season, which means pumpkin spice lattes, skeletons, and horror movies. Yes, we've reached October, and developer CoveiroDev has reimagined one of the most popular horror games of all time, Five Nights At Freddys, as a PS1 title, giving it a retro feel that takes us back to the time of the original Resident Evil and Silent Hill games.

After finding models of the animatronic characters and a map of the pizzeria from FNAF VR, CoveiroDev used custom shaders to make everything look like it had arrived on the PS1 back in the 90s, lowering the resolution to give it that old-school look we all know and love. The gameplay revolves around players finding power cells around the pizzeria to bring power back to the office. There are no cameras to help you as the power is out, and the animatronics are hunting you down as you collect your cells. Get to 100%, and you win.

Hiding in the office keeps you safe, but it also uses power, so you'll need to weigh up whether its worth playing it safe or staying on the move. Though considering Freddy can teleport to you wherever you are and Foxy can run like a madman towards you, neither option is brilliant.

Even with retro graphics, this game is super tense. Don't let the fact that it looks like an old PS1 game fool you - it feels even scarier than the PS4 version, and you'll definitely need your brown pants when you play it. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts below!
