When Mario finally heading into the world of 3D platforming in Super Mario 64, we all lost our minds. He's certainly become a lot more polished over (almost) three decade period since the game first dropped on the N64, and we've had some epic ROM hacks and mods from the game ever since including one that replaces Mario with Captain Falcon!
Now, there's a Mushroom Kingdom Minecraft mod created by Arthurtilly that you can play on your actual N64 where Mario takes the place of Steve for block-smashing action. It's still in the early stages of development with Arthurtilly explaining that more features are on the way and the fact that Mario is the only Mushroom Kingdom character currently in the game. Still, I'd love to see some Dry Bones roaming around in the place of Zombies.
