It's Dragon Quest, but not as you know it. The Nintendo Direct I've just spent the past hour watching had lots of amazing reveals in it, but a personal favourite was the reimagining of Dragon Age VII, a game that came out on the PS1 in Japan back in the year 2000.

Graphically, it looks absolutely superb and is yet another testament to how incredible the Nintendo Switch 2 is. While the original game was a 2.5D isometric or top-down title with minimal world detail, the new game is a sprawling epic that looks more like a motion picture than anything else!

The cutscenes are phenomenal, and the characters feel much more rounded, the worlds far more in-depth. If you thought that Link's Awakening looked great when it got the Nintendo Switch treatment, then you've seen nothing yet! The game is set to release on February 5th, 2026, with pre-orders opening on the Nintendo Switch store today. Check out the footage below to see all of the cutscenes in person!
