This news is especially exciting for me because I’m currently re-watching all of the Jurassic Park and World movies, so I’m currently living and breathing everything Dino-related. Dino Crisis and the sequel Dino Crisis 2 have long been classed as some of the best survival horrors on Sony’s maiden console, and now they’re on GOG for PC gamers to enjoy along with some quality-of-life features to bring them roaring, tearing, and biting into 2025.
Both of the games now have full compatibility for Windows 10 and 11 with an improved DirectX game renderer and new rendering options including Gamma Correction, Windowed Mode, Vertical Synchronization Control, Integer Scaling, and Anti-Aliasing. They both also have compatibility for your favourite controllers too, so you can hook up your PS5 DualSense controller or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller if that’s what you’re used to gaming with.
Delving deeper, Dino Crisis has 6 localisations of the game (English, German, Spanish, Japanese, French, & Italian so my dad can play it). The rendering resolution has been boosted up to 4K too with better textures and save files that no longer corrupt… which is always useful if you’re playing a game you want to complete!
Dino Crisis 2 just has English and Japanese localisations with Dino Colosseum and Dino Duel modes included, and it will come with improved music playback to make those creepy levels feel even scarier when you’re creeping around trying not to get eaten. As always with GOG, both games are DRM-free, which means that the games are distributed without digital rights management restrictions so you can be fully in control of your purchases and game freely.
I covered back in July 2024 that fans had voted that they would most like to see a new Dino Crisis game or sequel, and it seems that GOG and Capcom have listened with the arrival of the new enhanced versions of the game. And now GOG has a new Dreamlist tool where gamers can show interest in older games and help to bring them back to life and preserve them for newer generations. Black & White and Age of Empires are currently receiving lots of votes which I couldn’t be happier about, so get your votes in and let’s get them as the next two releases!
Both of the games are available on GOG right now – Grab Dino Crisis or Dino Crisis 2 separately for £8.99 each, or get them as a bundle for £15.29!
