When it comes to having a high work ethic, @bufuakgames certainly isn't shy about putting a shift in. They have spent all of their spare time over the past two years working on a new game called ALATURKA, all in PS2-esque graphics with a 70s-inspired theme. They've described it essentially as an open world'GTA Istanbul', with the game featuring lots of driving elements and döner kebab deliveries.
I've been watching the new trailer dropped by bufuakgames, and it looks fantastic. I also love the short answer of 'nope' to someone saying that the game should be modernised with Claude. The whole point of this game is that it looks like a retro GTA game, and bufuakgames has nailed it - shove off, Claude!
ALATURKA sounds pretty funny too if the official blurb on Steam is anything to go by.
You came to Bosforus as a döner kebab apprentice to your uncle. Pockets empty. Goal: save money. The city sits on two continents. Traffic does not move. Seagulls do not shut up. Your job is simple and miserable.
I didn't even know you could have döner kebab apprentices! And to be honest, I can relate to the seagull thing - they really are annoying!
The game is going to be available on Steam, and it's all been made by a solo dev without any budget whatsoever. It's all been made entirely on livestreams too, of which there were over 50. They're all in Turkish, but if you speak Turkish, you'll be able to watch back and follow the whole process.
The comments section is very interesting, with lots of people getting excited about the lore of the game, how weapons ended up in the city, why kebabs feature so heavily - all the important questions.
