While I've already put a lot of hours into Wind Waker and Mario Smash Football on Nintendo Switch Online on my Switch 2, Chibi-Robo! is one of the upcoming GameCube titles that I've been most looking forward to. It's such a fun and engaging game, but one that now goes for extortionate prices in second-hand stores. Now, however, players all over the world will be able to experience this exciting adventure for the price of their yearly NSO expansion!

Chibi-Robo!: Plug Into Adventure is arriving on Nintendo Switch Online on Switch 2 on August 21st, 2025, giving us all plenty of reason to get out into the garden under our favourite tree and play a bit of Switch 2 in the shade. You'll need to be signed up to the NSO Expansion, which currently costs me £34.99 a year and also gives you access to GBA, N64, and Genesis games. That's a lot better than new copies of this game that I've seen for $899!

For anyone who hasn't played Chibi-Robo!, he's a cute little robot that you have to plug in to charge up before completing tasks. Don't worry, though, he carries his plug around with him, so there's no need to panic about finding the right charger like we do these days.

Chibi is a little like a house elf; his job is to make sure the family he lives with is happy. You'll be plunged into a world that feels familiar but incredibly big as you step into some tiny, metal shoes and see everyday objects from a whole new angle.

I recently wrote about Ko Robo, the spiritual successor to Chibi-Robo that smashed its goal on Kickstarter. We've yet to see anything with regard to a release of this new title, but at least we won't have long to wait to step back into Chibi's world now that Nintendo have announced its arrival!
