I can't keep up. My review sample of the KONKR Pocket Advance arrived this morning, so I have begun our review process. Then, Arthur announces a livestream where he states that they've sold over 15,000 units of the Pocket Advance, and now, in the same livestream, announces yet another new colourway of the device to go alongside the previous Pink version that ships in late September.
This new colourway, "Onyx Ice", introduces the first transparent shell of the KONKR Pocket Advance, one that many AYANEO enthusiasts asked for, even though Arthur has a tendency to drag this out and somewhat manipulate their core audience into ordering more than one unit of this device by announcing new colourways every few days.
I get it, it's marketing at the end of the day, but announcing them so close together may annoy some customers. That said, this new Onyx Ice version that can be pre-ordered today for $109 - $129 will begin shipping in Late October, months after the initial release and shipping that has already begun. It's slightly more expensive as it is not a part of the early bird promotion that knocks $20 off the retail price.
This new transparent version is dark, shows subtle transparency, and a unique look into the internals of the device, not following the GAME BOY Advance colours in any way, and is a contrast to the Coral and Navy launch colours that were announced a week or so ago. Same design, same specs.
