It's no secret that AYANEO handhelds haven't exactly been what you'd call 'affordably priced' over the years. They're premium devices with a premium price tag, but AYANEO knows that there's a large market that they're not tapping into when it comes to lower-priced devices. Their new Konkr brand and the recently announced Pocket AIR Mini are aiming to change that, though the Pocket AIR Mini isn't part of the Konkr range... I'm sure everything will become apparent in time, right?
We covered the announcement on the Pocket AIR Mini with its 4.2" 4:3 display at 1280x960 resolution in great detail, though the release date and price remained a mystery. We were told previously that the handheld would likely be priced at under ¥ 999, but now they've gone one better and said that pricing for the AIR Mini will start from under ¥ 799, which works out at around $112.

Let's look at that pricing - the Pocket Micro that you see in a lot of my photos is currently priced at $259 on the AYANEO website. ANBERNIC's RG Cube currently starts off at a price of $149, as does the Retroid Pocket 4. The AIR Mini, if as powerful, could feasibly become the best budget entry handheld on the block.
As of now, I don't have any more details as to any other specs, but you can be sure that I'll let you know as soon as I do! But that price is looking promising - let's hope it lives up to the same AYANEO quality we've come to know over the years.
