Shiver me timbers! Xbox 360 fans are rejoicing after a massive leak has reported that an Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag remake is planned for the future down at Ubisoft HQ.
I don’t imagine Ubisoft are very happy that we all know about it, however, but that’s another topic for another day… and I imagine that someone is going to be walking the plank very soon
We discovered while trawling through the Evening Standard that Ubisoft are planning to bring out some incredible titles over the coming years, proving that they’re not resting on their laurels after the success of the new Prince of Persia game.
While new Assassins Creed games and titles in the Far Cry series are set to head to game store shelves (and our collections), it’s the remake of the Xbox 360 classic ‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ that has us immensely excited!
A Stealthy Remake
Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag dropped on the Xbox 360 back in 2013, receiving a ‘generally favourable’ review over on Metacritic from critics and a ‘stellar review’ from die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans, including many of the Retro Dodo Team.
It’s a game that we put a lot of time into over the years on lunch breaks for ‘research purposes’ and one that we’re excited to see heading back to our screens in the near future. This is the only kind of piracy that we condone, mainly because we get to pretend that we’re swashbuckling and getting ready to sail the seven seas.
As well as the remake, there are two Assassin’s Creed titles listed in the leak too, with ‘Hexe’ and ‘Invictus’ joining the series.
It looks like the Creed has a lot of life in it yet!
Still, let’s not get too excited yet; we all know how long we’ve been waiting for Metroid Prime 4 for, and the Black Flag remake was pretty far down the list.
It is, however a nice little title to have on the radar, and as soon as we hear something more concrete about the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake, we’ll let you know!
