Have you ever wanted Animal Crossing to have more of a Pokémon feel to it? I've been getting really bored with the mainline Pokémon games for a while now; they all have the same feel to them and nothing really changes, so it's nice to see that Nintendo have combined two of their most popular series together to create an island-building game where Pokémon rule the roost. It's called Pokémon Pokopia, and you control a Ditto who has taken on a human form.
The idea is that, because Ditto can take on other Pokémon's abilities, you'll be able to learn new moves as you go along to help you do everything from grow grass to building waterfalls and much more. You'll need to build homes for all of your new Pokémon while working with them to cultivate the land. It looks like the most wholesome game of all time, and the best part is that Tom Nook isn't going to be charging you extortionate amounts of bells for everything.

Because Ditto is a Pokémon, the other monsters can talk to you too, giving it more of a feel of Mystery Dungeon than the mainline games. I'm very excited for Pokopia, and that's not something that I've said about a Pokémon game for a very long time. I don't have any other information about the release date for this game yet, but you can watch the full footage, including your character teaming up with a Charmander to light a fire (my girlfriend shrieked when she saw this), in the Direct below!
