The ANBERNIC RG Rotate is one of our favourite retro handhelds of the year, it mixes a unique flip-out display with a high-quality metal shell and a 1:1 display that makes GAME BOY, Game Gear and NEO GEO games a pleasant experience.

One gimmick, I suppose you could say, is that it's being advertised as a clock too, allowing you to add the time on the front display when not in use, taking inspiration from the Game & Watch, I can imagine. Though customisations were originally limited, until now.

ANBERNIC has announced a new system update that can be completed over the air on your RG Rotate that offers the ability to customise your watch face and allows you to remove the notification bar too, so no distractions are on the screen when it's in watch mode.

It comes with a choice of presets for you to choose from, to change the look and feel of the time displayed, but it also allows you to customise it by adding a background and hands of your choice to a certain folder that changes it in a very customisable way.

It's not a huge update; in fact, it only adds the customisable watch face and fixes some smaller known bugs, but it may interest some of you who actually use the clock!

If you want to download my self-made Fat Piakchu watchface, you can do so here. I've added some files to a public G-Drive, go crazy. Just remember to create the folder "customize_clock" in your internal storage and add these files to that to use the customizable watchface.
