I’ve got to hand it to The Pokémon Company; there hasn’t been a dull moment on the Pokémon TCG Pocket app since I downloaded it. First, we unlocked battles at Level 3, then there was the free trial for the Premium subscription that I forgot to cancel, and then there was the Meowth & Chancey Wonder Pick Event.
Things got pretty exciting when the first EX Drop Event happened, giving us the chance to complete solo challenges to pick up a Lapras EX card from single-card promo packs, and then the Genetic Apex Emblem Event which is currently running until November 28th has kept us all battling long after winning those 45 matches to get the special championship emblem, honing our skills with new decks along the way.
I’m well aware that the app is designed to keep us playing and even dreaming about playing, but I’m fine with that. Heck, I love Pokémon cards so much that I don’t need an excuse to play. Still, I’m loving every second of it so far, and now some datamined information on Reddit posted by toma_suka has made me even more excited for the next couple of months of gaming.
We know for a fact that Trading is coming to the app in January – that’s been officially confirmed, and you can check out our article for more information on the rollout of this new feature. As to the datamined events, they have date periods that will supposedly take us all the way up to the week of Christmas with the first one allegedly starting tomorrow.
- Fire Pokémon Mass Outbreak Event (Duration: 1 Week) – The first event is set to take place between November 22 – 28 and brings new Fire-type Wonder Picks. It’s suspected that Arcanine will be amongst the picks just like Chancey was in the first Wonder Pick event. There will also reportedly be missions alongside it.
- Venasuar EX Event (Duration: 2 Weeks) – Like the Lapras EX Event, players will once more compete in solo missions to get promo packs from November 29 – December 13. The cards on offer as well as Venasuar EX are reportedly Haunter, Jigglypuff, Onix, and Greninja.
- Bulbasaur & Magnemite Wonder Pick Events Part 1 & 2 (Duration: 2 Weeks) – The last datamined event is split into two parts, commencing from December 6 – 13, and then again from December 13 – 20. It’s reportedly a Wonder Pick event with Bulbasaur and Magnemite cards, though it’s unclear as to what new features will appear in Part 2 of the event.
As always, take this information with a pinch of salt; we know the results from dataminers can sometimes be spot on while other times a million miles from the mark. Still, if the above information is correct, and we’ll know from tomorrow, then the run-up to Christmas is sure to be even more exciting this year!
