New Shadow The Hedgehog LEGO Set Dropping In October

Lego Shadow head

LEGO has been hitting the gaming world hard recently with so many new sets. I’m still toying with whether to get my hands on the Deku Tree set from The Legend Of Zelda, all while wondering how many new Animal Crossing Sets I could get away with buying and placing on the dining room table at home. Mario & Sonic are two of the biggest players for the Dodo team however, and a brand new set featuring the head of the Ultimate Lifeform has us in complete awe

At just 720 pieces, it’s not the world’s biggest LEGO set, and it comes with an 18+ age rating. That’s not because there’s any NSFW content hidden inside Shadow’s head (although we can’t wholly know what he’s thinking about 24/7), but because this is meant to be a showpiece for adults rather than a toy to be played with.

The official LEGO description calls this a ‘collectible Shadow the Hedgehog (77000) buildable LEGO® display gift model‘, kind of like the 3D-jigsaw puzzle of Jar Jar Bink’s head I once had. Still, the head will have some nice ‘easter emeralds’ inside for fans to discover. There’s a Chaos Emerald inside Shadow’s head (when is he not thinking about them?) and some rings hidden inside the base plate of the piece.

Coming Out Of The Shadows

2024 is going to be a big year for Shadow; not only is he being remade in LEGO form, but he’s also appearing in the new Sonic Movie and being voiced by none other than Keanu Reeves himself. Shadow is also appearing in Sonic X Generations too, making him the most sought-after hedgehog this year (bet you didn’t know that was an accolade that a hedgehog could strive for, did you?).

This Shadow the Hedgehog LEGO set is coming out at a great time and will hopefully gain Robotnik’s creation more notoriety than his 2005 home console game did. LEGO has priced the set at $99.99/£59.99, making it much cheaper to buy here in the UK. Once again, the company has described this as something for ‘Adult gaming enthusiasts to share their passion for the Ultimate Lifeform’ with; it’s not a toy, but definitely a piece for the games room or office.

At the moment the listing on the LEGO website just says ‘coming soon’ with no option to pre-order, but we’ll let you know on socials when that changes!
