It’s always sad when a store for an old console finally closes its doors. We’ve been through this pain with the Wii U & 3DS online services closing recently, all those games that we just can’t peruse or play online anymore getting lost to the ether, never to be downloaded again. Well, a number of developers and teams are giving massive Xbox 360 game discounts of up to 90% on some games in order to keep them alive.
The Xbox 360 store will finally close its doors on the 29th of July, 2024, and a lot of games that aren’t backward compatible and available on newer Xbox consoles will be gone forever. Reading on Xbox Wire, games like Alien Rage and Enemy Front have received a 90% discount, with other titles like Worms Revolution are still getting an attractive 50% off.
One of my personal favourite games, Child of Light, currently has 80% off – that’s a deal that everyone reading this article who owns an Xbox 360 should run to make use of right now! Also joining the 80% club are Just Dance 2014-2019, Risk: Urban Assault, Far Cry 4, and Watch Dogs.
There are over 60 games discounted for players to nab before time runs out, with two more groups of discounted games heading our way before the store ceases to exist. These will drop on June 18th, and again on July 16th. Here is the full list of titles taken from Xbox Wire on the Microsoft website!
It’s important to note that these are digital discounts only, and once the games are downloaded, they’ll stay on your Xbox 360 forevermore. So make sure to grab a bargain before it’s gone forever!
