Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire is making its way onto PlayStation Plus Premium in April 2024.

The reveal comes via psdeals.net who have listed the on-rails shooter classic for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation store tracking website includes a release date for Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire for Tuesday 16th April 2024, the same day as the next batch of PlayStation Plus Premium titles go live on Sony’s subscription service.

Star Wars Rebel Assault II joining the PlayStation Plus lineup is a welcome surprise for fans and a slightly different flavour for fans of George Lucas’ space opera to sink their teeth into.

Unlike many other Star Wars games on PlayStation, Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire is a rail shooter, with players taking control of the aptly, yet comically, named Rookie One, as they pilot Rebel Ships and battle Imperial Tie Fighters in dog fights and participate in action sequences on foot.

What really makes Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire stand out is the use of pre-rendered video featuring movie accurate costumes and sets.

Sony’s official announcement for the games arriving on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium is scheduled for Wednesday the 10th April 2024.
