MAR10 Day might have been all about the big man, but some of the limelight has been awarded to his scaredy-cat brother too now that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD & Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Remake release dates have both been announced.

The Thousand Year Door remake is set to hit our Switches on the 23rd of May 2024, and Luigi’s Mansion 2HD will be sneaking under our bed and frightening us in the middle of the night as of the 27th of June 2024.

A Classic Heading Back To The Fold

Paper Mario was the first Paper Mario game that I ever played. I picked up a second-hand copy from Total Games in Keighley (which doesn’t exist anymore, but it was a treasure trove) and brought it home to my GameCube, where I played it religiously for hours at a time.

The new remake promises to bring all the same action into the fold with crystal clear graphics on the Switch and all the same theatrical elements and nail-biting moments that the original title brought with it.

The cast and character camaraderie is what makes this game such a treat – it’s a comedic Mario game that feels more light-hearted and playful than the more serious side-scrolling titles, and it’s one that you’ll fall in love with in a heartbeat.

A Spooky Story Coming To Switch

I’m really looking forward to playing the HD remaster of Luigi’s Mansion 2 aswell; while the DS gameplay was fun, I’m excited to see this game blown up on the Switch with better controls.

The Luigi’s Mansion series has zero faults. It’s tense, exciting, a little spooky, and has surprises around every corner.

If you and your friends are signed up to Nintendo Switch Online, you can also team up to to scale the mighty ScareScraper, sucking up ghosts with your Poltergusts and completing team challenges together.

Talk about the ultimate team building exercises, right?
