After the news of ANBERNIC cancelling shipments to the US in the wake of President Trump's tariffs, American gamers have rightfully been annoyed that they won't be able to get hold of the latest retro handhelds. Unsurprisingly, 8BitDo have now followed suit and announced that they will also no longer be sending new stock to the United States.
In an official quote on the company's website, 8BitDo explains, "Due to U.S. tariffs, only products from our U.S. warehouse are available for shipping to the United States. China warehouse shipping is temporarily paused."
As I said, it's completely unsurprising, what with America imposing a 145% tariff on all imported goods from China, and 8BitDo won't be the last company to fall foul of Trump's tariffs.
They say that it's a temporary measure, but how long it will last is currently unknown. As with ANBERNIC, 8BitDo have advised that US gamers should purchase stock already in their US warehouse, and when it's gone, it's gone!
