If you've been keeping up to date with our reviews, then you'll know how much I love 8Bitdo. I swap between their C64-inspired Keyboard and my Saturn 30th Anniversary Edition keyboard on a regular basis and use them to write all of my articles on. Some of you may have seen their NES-inspired Retro R8 Mouse and their translucent green Xbox-inspired mouse doing the rounds on the internet, and now they're back with the Retro R8 - C64 Edition to complement their incredible mechanical keyboard.

Branding is everything with 8BitDo. You can see the iconic Commodore stripe logo featured in the picture above prominently on the mouse's charging dock, and the colour scheme perfectly recreates the feeling of the C64's casing. Like the other mice in the R8 range, it's a beautifully crafted piece and one that will pair up with your keyboard set-up perfectly.
And, just like the Analogue 3D N64-themed controller, this C64-edition mouse is exquisitely designed and brimming with nostalgia.

But lets talk features so you know what you're spending your cash on. This C64-inspired mouse is built with a PAW 3395 sensor which supports 6 different sensitivity levels ranging from 50DPI all the way to 26,000 DPI. According to the 8BitDo website, it also has polling rates 'ranging from 125Hz to 8000Hz'. In short, you won't ever have to worry about lousy tracking or it being non-responsive - it's the very definition of precision.
You'll keep your mouse charged 24/7 thanks to the included charging dock, which also acts as a signal extender to ensure an uninterrupted connection and a housing device for the mouse's USB dongle should you wish to hook up using 2.4G. There's also the option to hook up via Bluetooth or via USB-C, too.

The microswitches inside the mouse are designed to give you around 100 million clicks before they check out. Honestly, I can't ever imagine clicking something that many times in my life, so this mouse would probably outlast me! There's also left-right hand mode switching and programmable side buttons for your thumb, giving you complete control of your work or gaming experience.
I gave the C64-edition keyboard a solid 9 out of 10 in my review, and I'll definitely be picking up this mouse to go alongside it. 8BitDo's products have never failed me yet. The C64-edition R8 Retro mouse costs $49.99 and is available to order from Amazon now!
