Mega Man doesn't get enough love these days. He's one of the classics, one of the all-time greats, yet Capcom have been a bit lapse with him of late. We've not had anything new from Mega Man for a long time now, which begs the question - have Capcom simply realised that his 8-bit antics can't be beaten?

I see a lot of ROM Hacks based on MM's 8-bit era, revamping his adventures to stop Dr Wily from causing havoc, and the fans are doing everything they can to keep those early games alive. And it's not always in game form either, as creator KovaBuilds has shown over on the LEGO Ideas page. They have immortalised Mega Man's 8-bit character sprite in LEGO form forever more in their new concept set, which is gradually gaining traction online.

KovaBuilds has created two versions of Mega Man in this set, giving us the chance to build either his classic hero pose or firing his arm cannon. And the best bit is that the firing pose features a detachable power orb that you could hang or display a few centimetres away to make it look like it's just been fired at an enemy.

It's not a massive set by the looks of it, but it's been designed so well that it's instantly recognisable as Capcom's famous hero. I can't imagine it would take long to build, but in terms of display power, it's going to make people incredibly happy when they see it!

As with all LEGO Ideas, this project has a certain amount of time to get to its final milestone of 10,000 supporters. It's already surpassed 100 supporters, which means it now has 400 days left to get to 1,000. Once it reaches 10k, the LEGO Ideas team will confer as to whether it becomes a real LEGO set or not. All we can do is help it on its way with a free show of support, and you can do that by visiting the official page on the LEGO Ideas website! Good luck, KovaBuilds!
