Don't you just love it when games that cost tonnes of money to buy arrive on modern systems or get released on new consoles for a fraction of the price. So many people hadn't played Chibi-Robo! because of the high price second-hand stores slapped on it, and the same has gone for many gamers wanting to check out FireRed and LeafGreen. Not everyone has £80 to splash out on a GBA cartridge (without a box or instruction booklet), and not everyone has $199 to shell out for Avenging Spirit either.
This game appeared in our list of incredibly rare Game Boy games, and it's because of the North American cover. It has an American gangster with the classic hat and Tommy Gun combo, whereas the European and Japanese covers just had cute ghosts on them. The game is a Posess-em-up, which essentially means you play as a ghost that possesses different characters so that you can avenge your own death. Copies of this game have sold for over $1000 in the past, with boxed PAL versions selling for $800. Currently (in October 2026), loose copies with booklets are selling for around $199!
The other two games in the collection are Mole Mania and Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator. Mole Mania sells for around $70 loose and up to $199 for a boxed complete version. Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator unfortunately isn't a rare or expensive game, with loose copies selling for a couple of dollars. Still, it's a cool title to play if you like Kirby's Pinball or Pokémon Pinball - pinball games are just super chill to kick back with, aren't they!
Mole Mania is a cool platformer that sees players stealthily evading enemies, rolling items to give them cover, and then using the same items to destroy said enemies. It's a screen-clearing game, with a bomb being needed to exit the level and enter the stage.
If you've never played any of these games, I think you'll probably sink a lot of time into Avenging Spirit and Mole Mania, with some dabbling on Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator as a bit of a break in between the two. And the best bit is that you can play these games with the basic tier of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, as well as with all of the other Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, NES titles, and SNES classics.
All three Game Boy games arrive on the system on October 27th. Head to Nintendo Switch Online to sign up if you haven't already!
