Fable Reboot Trailer Drops With New Characters & Classic British Humour

Fable reboot gameplay

The internet has been awash with speculations about the new Fable reboot for a while now, and we’re not surprised. When word drops that there’s going to be a reboot of one of the best Xbox series of all time, there’s bound to be people whispering. Can it possibly live up to the original title? Will it do the series justice?

Well, from what I’ve seen from the trailer that dropped during the Xbox Games Showcase, I would say that the answer to both of those questions is a resounding yes. First announced back in 2020, it’s now apparent that the new Fable adventure will be dropping in 2025. Expect more morality-themed gameplay where every action has a consequence and lots of British humour delivered by the incredible Matt King.

How do you make a Fable game better? Just get Super Hans of Peep Show fame to lend his voice to one of the new main characters, a retired Albion hero called Humphrey. Phill Spencer did say that he wanted the game to be ‘very British’ and you can’t get more British than Matt King’s accent. Humphrey even has some Super Hans-style expressions too!

The series, on the whole, has had a very British feel to it, what with Simon Pegg, Stephen Fry, and Zoe Wannamaker amongst others lending their voices to characters in the past. It seems that the new developers Playground Games are continuing this theme, especially with the inclusion of Matt King and the previous trailer being narrated by Richard Ayoade.

The other main character in the Fable reboot trailer is a yet unnamed female fighter who Humphrey seems to have taken under his wing. She’s an incredibly formidable fighter from what I’ve seen in the footage and appears to be the character players will be controlling the most. I’m looking forward to finding out more about her as the year goes on, but for now, here’s the trailer if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet!
