If you're looking at this and thinking, 'What game is that?', then don't worry, because you probably won't be on your own. While we've all played Ocarina of Time & Oracle of Seasons and loved every second of them, many Zelda fans haven't had the chance to play the titles that arrived on the CDI.

Back in the 90s, Nintendo & Phillips came to an agreement to put three Zelda titles on their CD-i console. Link: The Faces Of Evil, & Zelda: The Wand Of Gamelan were side-scrollers, but Zelda's Adventure felt like a top-down adventure that should have been on the Sega CD with the likes of Sewer Shark & Night Trap.

Zelda's Adventure demake on Delta

This demake comes from John Lay and is available to play in your browser or to download to play on emulators like Delta for the iPhone or to put onto your Analogue Pocket or chosen retro handheld. And if you're wondering what that cool skin is in the picture, it's our Retro Dodo Delta skin that we sell to raise money for charity! It's available for £2.99 and all of the proceeds go to great causes!

While the story of the original Zelda's Adventure game takes place in the land of Tolemac, the assets here look very much like those of Link's Awakening and Oracle of Ages/Seasons. Rest assured that this is a full port of the CD-i game in the style of the Game Boy titles with a few modifications, channeling all of the shrine exploring and item nabbing that makes The Legend of Zelda games so iconic.

Zelda's Adventure demake gameplay

In all honesty, I love the fact that we've got DMG sprites instead of the digitized photo gameplay - I play the CD-i original and feel like my brain is going to explode! It's painfully slow and hard to get your head around because of the conflicting textures, none of which you get with this demake.
