Upcoming Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED Console Leaks

zelda tears of the kingdom console leak

To round of the year there is more Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom news, but this time, it’s a leak and one i think many of you will be interested in.

Traditionally, when Nintendo launch large games they have a history of revealing limited edition consoles that you can snag early before the game releases. They did this when they launched Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Now, with their upcoming launch of what looks like one of the best Zelda games on Nintendo Switch named The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom it seems they are doing the same.

Recently leaked on imgur, a user shares images of what looks like a Limited Edition OLED Nintendo Switch to celebrate to games launch.

Typically leaks like this have low quality images and very little content to back it up, but we can help but think this looks… very real. The packaging is high quality, the joy-cons incredibly detailed and the artistic design looks very professional.

Even if the logo and illustration used are identical to that of the Limited Edition Zelda Nintendo 3DS XL that they launched back in 2015.

Could this be lazy design work, or could this indicate that this is a fake leak? Who knows, but you can’t ignore that they are very similar indeed.

There’s also an image that shows the back of the joycons, alongside the back of the dock. There is very little design illustrations here but it gives you a good insight into how it will look.

Personally, I am really liking the golden joy-cons, it seems like they have put more effort into them compared to other limited edition joy-cons of the past and the gold shell gives it a very premium look which I dig.

There is also some minor details to the back of the Nintendo Switch console and along the large kickstand. This isn’t anything special but i guess… it’s better than nothing?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will released on Nintendo Switch on 12th May 2023, so expect this to release a week or two early, with pre-orders going live in Q1 2023.

As with any leaks please take them with a pinch of salt. We will update this article with more information once we receive it.
