It’s finally happened – We got the official announcement for the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch that we have all been waiting for!
Nintendo held a special video presentation today with nearly ten minutes of new gameplay footage from the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild.
And we were absolutely blown away by the demonstration of Link’s new abilities. And just the sheer size of the new transformed Hyrule. It was insanely beautiful, to say the least.
After all of the really fun demonstrations, it seemed like the video was coming to an end. And then BOOM – there it was. The OLED Switch model we’ve been waiting for.
I will be the first to say: It’s as glorious as we had hoped. If not better.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch
We had previously talked about the possibility of a Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED Console incoming.
Seeing those leaked photos of the packaging a few months ago pretty much confirmed its existence. But we’ve been fooled in the past.
But now there are zero doubts about it. This thing is very real.
April 28th is officially the release date for the new Tears of the Kingdom OLED model, and it goes without saying that I’ll be picking one up.
That’s two weeks before the release of the game.
For clarity – it does not come bundled with the game. So expect to be paying about $359.99 for the OLED Switch and $79.99 for Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch Details
This new OLED Switch model looked even better than I expected. And I was expecting a lot.
I mean just take a look at it for yourself.
So much freakin’ detail happening, and those colors just work so well together. Black, white, silver, gold, green. I love every inch of it.
And it wasn’t just the new OLED Switch, joycons, and dock that was announced.
They even sneaked in a new Switch Pro Controller and Switch carrying case that will be made available on May 12th, same day as the game.
Really taking a major hit on my bank account, aren’t you Nintendo?
It’s wild to think that we’ve been waiting for the follow up to Breath of the Wild for over six years now.
And we are now just 45 days away from the release of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. But who’s counting?
Jeez, these next few months are gonna be absolutely insane for Nintendo fans.
And I’ll be right there with them…
Buying new consoles, new controllers, and clearing my schedule to take my first dive into Hyrule.
