That is a title I never thought I'd write, but here I am in 2026, excited about an Android launcher... But hear me out, it's one that transforms the Android experience into one that resembles a classic Nintendo DS handheld.
There's no denying that we all remember the UI of a Nintendo DS, the clock, the typography, and the sounds. It's nostalgic af, and hits that spot between modern and retro perfectly. So if you've been wishing for a smartphone inspired by the Nintendo DS, then this is as close as you are going to get.
Created by YouTuber Mr Rubik, this once launched will be an Android application that you download from the Play Store, and basically becomes a launcher for other applications and ROMs on your phone, all while offering minor features from the DS such as the Clock, Calendar and personal details.
Main Features

- DSi-style launcher interface

"DS & DSi Launcher brings a retro dual-screen handheld-style experience to Android, with a nostalgic interface inspired by classic DS and DSi menus, app launching, local game organisation, and controller-friendly navigation", states Mr Rubik.
There's no official release date as of yet, nor how much it will cost upon release, but it's coming, it's a neat app, and one many Nintendo DS fans will appreciate!
