We’re big fans of video game vinyls here at Retro Dodo; I buy so many vinyl records that I’m close to having to shell out for a new stand! Now, thanks to a post by BlipBlop, it seems like I’m going to be adding the sounds of the Mushroom Kingdom to my collection in a couple of months time!

Yes, Warner Music Japan are releasing music from different classic Mario Bros games on vinyl for nerdy purists like me to collect, essentially putting the Super Mario World CD featuring the music of Koji Kondo that Warner brought out in 1991 onto Vinyl. There will be 3 LPs in the set with an arrangement album and music from Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros, The Lost Levels, And Super Mario Bros. 3.

The set is available to pre-order from HMV Japan right now and currently costs ¥11500, which is around £60 and $73. The full track listing is also available to view on HMV. You can also order it from Tower Records for the same price, and I would imagine it will appear on eBay very shortly after too!
