The Virtual Boy might not have been a massive success on the count that it made everyone who played it have the worst headaches that they had ever experienced, but that hasn't stopped Nintendo from paying homage to it with a new accessory for the Nintendo Switch to be able to play the Virtual Boy's back catalogue.

Back in September, I wrote about the back catalogue of Virtual Boy games arriving on the Nintendo Switch Online platform on February 17th, 2026. Now we're in December and that arrival date is coming around fast, and Nintendo has finally made their Virtual Boy Accessory available for pre-order, so we can get ready for the big day.

And when I say 'get ready', I mean have a migraine specialist on standby.

The Virtual Boy Accessory looks just like the original Virtual Boy, with the difference being that you stick your Switch 1 or 2 into it and look through the viewfinder to see the games. You'll be able to jump back into Mario's Tennis and Virtual Boy Wario Land like its 1995.

The Virtual Boy accessory is $99.99/£66.95 and available to pre-order for Switch Online members. Head to the Nintendo Store to place your order!
