The LEGO leaks are coming out left right and centre recently, and most of them eventually become a reality, likely meaning there's a prominent leaker behind the scenes deep within LEGO's HQ. Though this leak has already officially been teased by LEGO themselves, many weeks after.

This leak by the user the_brick_news on X shows the front cover of an upcoming Donkey Kong Arcade set, which pairs perfectly with LEGO's official announcement of a Donkey Kong set featuring the iconic barrels. Many believe it could be an arcade set, but I don't think many of us thought it would look like this!

It certainly keeps the arcade feel and look, coming in at a mighty 1,367 pieces, making it a likely contender to push my PAC-MAN Arcade from my favourite retro-themed LEGO set ever from the top spot. Just look at it, it seems to have a lot of playability too.

According to the leaker, this will officially be revealed very soon, will cost around $199 and be shipping as early as August, just in time for LEGO and retro gaming fans to snag one before Christmas takes all of our money.

The scale and playability is what will entice a lot of people to this one, and from what I can tell, real barrels will fall through the level that you so carefully designed, with a possible way to control Mario himself to jump over them. If you look carefully, you can even see the iconic hammers waiting to be picked up, alongside a joystick that looks like a barrel and exclusive Donkey Kong pieces around the edge of the display.

I'm going to be honest, I really like the look of this one and no doubt there will be hidden easter eggs like other larger retro-gaming sets of the past. No doubt LEGO will speed up the reveal since it has leaked, so expect more information about it over the coming week or two. Join our free weekly newsletter to not miss out.
