Toby Fox's epic title Undertale has captured the hearts and minds of gamers all over the globe. There are so many fan games that take inspiration from it, and many developers have cited it as being one of the most influential titles in their catalogue. We've already seen a demake of the follow-up title Deltarune in the form of the 'Deltarune - Chapter 1 GB' demake by TccTeam, and now blaqberry has brought a working version of Undertale in our favourite GBC-style for players to enjoy.

I love everything about 8-bit gaming. It's what I grew up with, after all, so that's not really a surprise. Still, when I see games demade in the style of my favourite handheld, it just makes them feel more exciting, and I suppose more familiar. Seeing the original vs the 8-bit version above fills me with excitement and takes me back to a simpler time - I guess I'll always be a Game Boy Color nerd!

According to the official blurb on the game's page, it's a demake that recreates all of the 'core mechanics, pixel art style, and soundtrack' of the original in a retro style. There are all of the same combat experiences, puzzles, and narrative from the original game too, it just looks like it should be played on a yellow Game Boy with Pikachu stickers on it. It's not a million miles away from the original, but it's got even more of a retro feel to it now, and I'm here for it!

At this current time, the game is fully playable to the end of the ruins, and while the project is 'in development', it seems that blaqberry is keen to get the whole thing finished as quickly as possible. Head to the Itch.io page for Undertale GB for more information and to either play it in your browser or download it for your chosen emulator.
