As hype for the Nintendo Switch 2 increases and gamers around the world get excited for the next evolution of the Nintendo Switch Online platform, Nintendo are still quietly dropping new games onto the platform to keep us appeased. Their shadow-dropping techniques would make stealthy ninjas jealous, releasing games to keep us surprised and on our toes left, right, and center!
The latest editions to the NSO Game Boy catalogue are Donkey Kong 94 and Mario's Picross, two classic DMG games that I've put a heck of a lot of time into over the years. The good news is that you can access these games on the base tier of the membership too, so you don't need to upgrade to the N64 and GBA games package to be able to flex those washing-line swinging, dustbin-jumping, barrel-kicking muscles in Donkey Kong 94 or get those grey-cells working in Mario's Picross.
If you've never played either of these games before, then Donkey Kong 94 has gameplay that's similar to the Mario Vs Donkey Kong games. In fact, you'll find it very obvious where they got the inspiration for the series from with it acting as a sort of 'spiritual successor' to this original Game Boy game.
Mario's Picross requires you to get your brain working to reveal pictures hidden within a grid. You'll need to discover the meaning of codes and decipher numbers to discover images, cleverly striking blocks with your chisel in the process. It's definitely one for the sudoku or Wordle fans out there who like to game and train their brain at the same time.
Both games are available to play now - head to Nintendo Switch Online for more details!
