If you're into your indie games, then you'll no doubt have put many hours into Tunic or have at least come across the little anthropomorphic fox that looks like he's played a lot of Zelda in his lifetime. This title captured the hearts and minds of gamers the world over, with players falling in love with the isometric gameplay and the Link's Awakening-style gameplay, and now a budding developer has paid homage to it by creating a Game Boy Color demake called 'Pocket Tunic' which is free to download or play in your browser.

Instead of being in the same isometric style, it looks and plays like a top-down 2D GBC title and has all the charm of the titles on our favourite Ninty handheld. I've been playing it via Delta on my Mac this afternoon, and while I've spent too much time playing Tunic already in my life, I'm really enjoying the toned-down experience of the game.
Author Zeerust has explained that this is a Beta release of Pocket Tunic and that there are a couple of issues present, but to bear with them while they make other areas accessible and squash any bugs. I'm not going to give away any secrets of the gameplay in line with Zeerust's wishes, but as it's a free title to download, I would urge you to head to the Itch.io link and get a copy on your phone or chosen emulator today!
