The Simpsons Hit & Run Is Being Ported To The Dreamcast

The Simpsons: Hit & Run with Seb's Dreamcast

'Ah, the good 'ol Dreamcast'. That was Brandon's reaction when I turned to tell him about another one of our favourite games heading to the console, all thanks to the hard work of the retro gaming community. The Dreamcast has had such a resurgence of late, with games that would never have made it onto the console being ported over with surprising results.

Joining the likes of GTA and Star Fox 64 is The Simpsons: Hit & Run, a game that I played on my GameCube on repeat until the disc just gave up and ceased to exist. According to our pals over at Time Extension, it's being worked on by a modder by the name of maximqad who has previously brought Counter Strike and Half-Life Deathmatch to the Dreamcast.

That's the only image we have so far, and as you can see from the colours on the screen, it's very much in the early stages of development. Still, the fact that it's happening is exciting enough, and if the Dreamcast can cope with GTA, then it can definitely cope with its Springfield-based clone.

Keep checking back for more info on this port as and when I get it, and keep everything crossed that we don't have too long to wait before we can play it!
