The 2000's were a simpler time. Gaming didn't need a 4K TV to get the most out of titles, and portable consoles didn't leave you tethered to a power pack as though it were a lifeline. Game Boy Color games ruled the roost, and their gameplay was simple enough that you could kick back and enjoy them while actually relaxing, not feeling more stressed than when you started.

The Last of Us is one of the best PS3 games of all time, and thanks to the TV series becoming such a huge success, the game has fully become a household name. There's no wonder that budding game dev mourilo has chosen it for their latest demake, giving Joel and Ellie's world the 8-bit treatment in 'The Last of Us Demastered'.
The gameplay revolves around a vertical scrolling run-and-gun format. You move using the WASD keys, fire your weapon using the J key, and change weapons using 1, 2, 3 on the top of your keyboard or numpad. It's simple to get to grips with, but man, can it get hairy!

The infected come at you thick and fast, as do bullets from other enemies, and if you're not careful, you can have an undead cretin chomping on your neck. As Joel, you have to shoot back enemies and protect Ellie; a stray bullet or attack from an infected on Ellie will contribute to you failing your mission, so you need to keep your eyes on the prize at all times.
The game is free to play in your browser, meaning you can load it up on your work laptop or on your phone wherever you are and have a go. Yes, this might mean you get a telling off from your boss, but it'll be worth it!
