I feel as if Tamagotchi's have been making a real come back in the West recently. Their marketing team at Bandai Namco are doing a darn good job at creating new campaigns that generate interest, alongside constant awareness at game shows, especially here in the UK.
My recent visit to Japan also shined a light on this adorable, and highly collectible brand, forcing me to snag an original from 1997 that I found in "Tokyo's smallest retro games shop".
One product which I saw advertised for pre-orders last year was the Tamagotchi x Chogokin collaboration which brings together a transformer like toy design with an original Tamagotchi.
Chogokin is a well known, high-end collectible toy maker in Japan that creates incredible figurines for a range of pop-culture brands, including Gundam.
They've taken that expertise to create a robot-like character that's inspiration is taken from one of the original Tamgotchi's known as Mametchi. The console itself is used as a chest piece, with the living organism inside of its chest, making it look like the core energy of the collectible.
Not only does this robot contain your Tamagotchi, but it can also transform into a UFO with wheels, taken inspiration from Tamagotchi's UFO that is used to hop between planets.

Ofcourse it is sold out in most places as the pre-orders started back in November, but the official release date is finally here and some customers are seeing them be delivered already.
They can be found on eBay for around $100, which is slightly more than they retailed for at ¥9,900 equivalent to £54/$72.
