The Shoe Boy & Shoe Boy Color are coming back by popular demand in limited numbers, and for a Nintendo handheld lover like me, they’re the ultimate pairs of hi-tops. And while the company sells a range of gaming shoes based on classic consoles, it’s the Atomic Purple Shoe Boy Color with transparent casing effect, the ‘Color’ branding used for the GBC on the side of the sole, and little features like the ‘A & B’ buttons that make me want to don a pair and head out with my Game Boy Color and Pokémon Gold in hand.
The DMG variant is superb too, complete with the exact colour style and green-tinged screen that we all know and love from Nintendo’s iconic handheld. In fact, both shoes bear a likeness of the screen of the handheld they’re based on complete with the red power indicator. I wouldn’t be surprised if these made you run faster while playing Metroid II or Donkey Kong Country!
Let’s talk about the Shoe Boy Color for a second. These will be limited to 100 units, 92 of which will be the Atomic Purple variant. There will also be 2 chase options (highly limited and sought-after options) in Green, Yellow, Teal, and Pink!
