Seiko Teams Up With Transformers For Megatron-Inspired Watch

There's no doubt that Optimus Prime is cool, but the baddies are always cooler. Seiko knows this, which is why their latest timepiece is based on the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, featuring some subtle nods to the Cybertron behemoth that will make you feel like an absolute badass every time you leave the house.

Don't worry, you won't start telling people the wrong time or feel the need to chop trucks in half whenever you see them. This luxury watch is simply based on his Generation 1 design and doesn't bring any of Megatron's abilities to your wrist. With a silver, grey, and black colour scheme, the iconic Decepticon symbol bang at the 12 oclock mark, and an energon cube engraved into the crown, it's the perfect accessory for any Transformers fan who perhaps has to keep their love for the robots in disguise while during meetings or at fancy meals.

Produced in conjunction with U-Treasure out of Japan, the watch also has a Walter P38 handgun at the 6 o'clock position, Megatron's original transforming mode. Unfortunately, the watch doesn't transform into a little figurine like this limited edition piece from HAUTLENCE, but it will also be a lot cheaper to purchase.

This 40th anniversary branded watch might be a year out of sync, but it's still a great piece, and better late than never. There will only be 300 of these watches made, each costing 54,000 yen, which is around US$410 or £272. Pre-orders are open from now until the 12th of August, with watches expected to ship to customers in September.
