It’s not often I see a timepiece that I fall in love with. I have a TagHeur Formula 1 that I adore, but there could be a new contender for my wrist space and that’s by… SEGA?

Premium Hong Kong watchmaker Anicorn have revealed a collaboration with SEGA to reveal three new timepieces that will cost a mighty $800 a pop, based on the popular consoles from the 90’s according to VGC.

These new watches are based on the Sega Genesis, the Japanese Mega Drive and last but not least the European Mega Drive.

Titled as limited edition luxury time pieces these are crafted with the utmost care with not so subtle nods to the original consoles designs and regional differences.

Each watch is crafted with metals official logos, leather straps and a transparent glass back so you can see the insides working their nostalgic magic.

Unlike normal watches, this shows the time through a small section at the top of the watch which resembles the cartridge slot, as if time is peaking at you through the console’s face.

Each console is in limited supply and will cost $800 each. The SEGA Genesis edition is exclusive to North America and South America and the two Mega Drive editions will be exclusive to the rest of the world.

The watches go on sale December 5th 2023 at 9am ET / 2pm GMT and will come with a unique unboxing experience that again, resembles the classic consoles.

So, if you’re wanting to snag one, set your alarms because I can imagine these will sell out fairly quickly because not only are the gaming collectors wanting it, so are the watch collectors!

Watch collaborations in the gaming space is becoming more popular as the years go by, in 2021 Nintendo partnered with Tag Heur to create a Super Mario watch, and just a couple of months ago Capcom partner with AVI-8 to create a 1942 watch.

So it seems gamers like their watches!

Anicorn are releasing a trailer today on the 1st of December to create even more hyper, but we’ll update the article and embed it below when it does!
