If you've checked out my article on Eiji Aonuma changing up the Zelda formula with his cel-shaded dream, then you'll know all about how much I love The Wind Waker. People were sceptical at first; changing Link's look was a mad move, right? Still, it's one of the most charming games that Nintendo has ever released.
And now, Robin Payot has brought a browser game to the world where you can sail around in the King of Red Lions boat right from your web browser in an open-source project. And yes, I've been playing it all morning so far and haven't got anything done!
My old #Threejs #Zelda project now runs on #WebGPU thanks to #TSL !⛵️🙌

Robin clearly has the same love of Wind Waker as we do, as this ocean-based playable part of the game is a real trip down memory lane, complete with the iconic music to back it up. Robin has remade the watery adventure as a 3D browser-based experience using Three.js, getting it running on WebGPU with TSL.
There are two modes - Explore the Ocean, where you have to find the Tri-Force and can explore at will, and Rupee's Game, where you must collect as many rupees as possible.

I've been playing the game on Chrome on my Mac, and it runs perfectly. If you're using a Mac and have Safari running, then be warned that it will bring up an old version of the project that won't run as well. Check it out and let us know how you get on!
And don't forget to check out LittleJem's recreation of the King of Red Lions that actually floats!
