The ANBERNIC RG DS literally landed on my desk this morning and I'm already writing a news post about the next device. Classic ANBERNIC, I suppose!
Well, for those who are fans of their vertical series, you will be glad to know that pictures of the "RG477V" has been leaked, indicating that it is ANBERNIC's next release, likely shipping in Q1 2026.
These images were leaked by user u/Qinki001, who was apparently in contact with Maxzhou88, one of the higher-ups at ANBERNIC. A high-res image of what could be the back design of the upcoming handheld has also leaked.

The first image shows the button layout of the device. The most obvious feature is the all-glass front panel, something many of us are getting a little exhausted by, but it's the new thing in the handheld space.
LEDs behind the select/start button are also new, I believe, and it looks like ANBERNIC is keeping the same anlaogue sticks, DPAD and gloss action buttons that were found on their most received RG4 devices.

It's rumoured that the screen will be 4.7" due to its name "RG477V" which usually indicates screen size, chipset and form-factor.
The bezels look very minimal, at the retro grey version has kept that grey border to minimise it visually, which I do prefer in all honesty.
It also shows the on button and an SD-card slot on the left. Which you can also see in the image below, which is higher-res and a first look at the back.

The shoulder buttons are not stacked, and it can be seen with an obvious vent behind the display, too. The ergonomics are pretty minimal, likely because ANBERNIC wants to keep this as slim as possible, which I know many vertical fans want.
Their last few high-powered vertical devices have been on the chunky side and won't fit comfortably in a pocket.
It's likely to feature a Dimensity 8300 chipset too, which is certainly powerful enough to emulate Gamecube, Dreamcast, PSP and even PlayStation 2 games well if paired with a strong GPU and RAM.
As of now, this is the only information we have. A thin, powerful vertical from ANBERNIC could excite a lot of people in the space for sure, if priced correctly!
