We've been following the news of the Retroid Pocket Classic closely as it looks incredibly promising, and now that the specs have been released including a tease of a Qualcomm 4 nm chipset, we're even more excited. The vertical gaming handheld has the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with pocketable size handhelds like the RG35XX and TRIMUI Brick with a nostalgic feel that Game Boy Color fans will love.
So let's take a look at the specs. We already know that the Classic is shipping with a 3.92-inch display and a 5:4 screen ratio. Retroid have now divulged that it will come with an AMOLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery, and the Qualcomm 4 nm chipset. It will ship with 4GB of RAM and come with 64GB of storage, as well as WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5 capabilities.

Dimensions and weight wise, the Classic is 138 mm high x 89.8 wide x 26 mm deep and weighs 223g. That puts it bigger than the TRIMUI Brick and around the same size as the ANBERNIC RG40XX V albeit a little heavier. It will run Android 14 OS which I'm not surprised about and comes with active cooling. We also have two different button layouts, with one of the seven designs being set up for Sega gaming with 6 action buttons and the others boasting just 4 action buttons and looking more like the GBC in design. That blue and yellow design is definitely going to be arriving at my door when it releases!
As we said previously, I'm expecting this device to come in at under $100, but we don't have any more information on the price or release date yet. More information to follow!
