Remute is one of the most fascinating people in the Retro Gaming space. I mean, why release your music in a normal format like on a CD or vinyl when you can really push the boat out and specifically write albums to be played on retro consoles? Head to one of his gigs, and you'll be greeted with NES cartridges, Game Boy carts, and Panasonic 3DO CDs with his albums on, as well as lots of exciting extras to accompany the journeys his music takes you on.
His new album, Remute² is available for pre-order now and runs on the Amiga CD32/1200/4000 as well as playing through Amiga emulators and comes with 15 new songs as well as a player GUI, visuals, and bonus extras on a CD-ROM to complete the whole package.
Writing on the official Bandcamp page for the new Album, Remure says 'Boot up your Amiga and enjoy Remute's authentic blend of catchy, somehow slightly gothic, electro-pop anthems like 'Realm Of Desperation' and 14 other songs ranging from ecstatic French, house bangers, industrial techno cuts, and deep ambient journeys'.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Remute on the Retrospect podcast to discuss how he makes his tracks, the process of making music for specific consoles, and which consoles are the hardest to work with. Listen back using the player below!
