Twister is one of the main reasons I was always so excited and terrified by the thought of seeing a tornado in real life as a kid, obviously from a great distance and one that wasn't anywhere near people. Unfortunately, there weren't many tornadoes in Blackpook, England, when I was holidaying as a child, so I never really got to fulfil that wish. I did eventually see a small one in the desert in America and can confirm to six-year-old me that it made me want to get out of there pretty fast.
If I had this LEGO Twister set back in the day, it probably would have quenched my thirst for tornado chasing. I would have had my very own Dorothy data-gathering device, as well as tiny versions of Bill and Dr. Jo to help me on my quest.

This is an incredibly faithful diorama of a classic scene from the 1996 movie, complete with a cow attached to the tornado, which coincidentally moves and chases the truck down a stretch of road thanks to a moving mechanism. You'll even be able to reveal the Twister sensors inside Dorothy.
The set by ComicMischeif is currently a Staff Pick on the LEGO Ideas page and has 726 days left to achieve 10,000 supporters backing it. It's currently on 7,113 and has gone up while I've been writing this article, so I think it will definitely make that goal! With the reboot of Twisters getting fans to seek out the original film, there's no better time for a slice of 90s nostalgia to hit shop shelves in LEGO form.
Head to the LEGO Ideas page to back it and help it become a reality!
