Just when you thought your week couldn't get any better, ModRetro drop a curveball and announce the return of a bona fide gaming legend to handhelds all over the globe (or should I say, Globox).
It's been 12 years since we had a release in the main Rayman series and 30 years since the very first game released on consoles by Ubisoft, and many of you reading this article will remember slotting it into your Atari Jaguar or PS1 for the very first time. But for those of you who haven't ever experienced Rayman's humble beginnings, then you can discover his world in handheld mode through ModRetro's newest game release.

The original Rayman game saw a Game Boy Color version released in the year 2000, and now ModRetro have brought it back for a new lease of life with a brand new full colour box and manual, as well as a slick purple cartridge to add some contrasting colour to your chosen Chromatic. And in true ModRetro form, a dangling charm of an 8-bit Rayman to hang from your Chromatic!
Sorry, Hermano, but I'll be replacing you with Rayman when it arrives through my letterbox. And in case you're wondering, all ModRetro cartridges work on original Game Boy hardware and in devices like the Analogue Pocket, so you can still join in the action even if you don't have a Chromatic at home!

So what can fans expect from the new release? Well, there will be 30 levels jam-packed with enemies for Rayman to thwart as he explores, searching for mysteries and generally getting involved in lots of side-scrolling chaos. Use Rayman's signature moves, including his punch attack, and tap your foot to a brand new soundtrack that helps to connect to all of his shenanigans.
Orders are officially open now, so head to the ModRetro website to place yours!
