Evercade have made it their mission to keep retro classics alive through their range of handheld and home consoles. The fact that cartridges work on each and every one of their machines is wild, meaning I can play my favourite retro games on the go or at home and carry on where I left off. And what's more, their back catalogue is becoming more and more impressive by the day.
Rare announced this week that they're joining the Evercade family with their first cartridge for the range of systems. It'll feature 12 of their games from yesteryear and also marks the return of Conker in an official capacity for the first time since 1999!
Item quatre? Our first ever @evercaderetro cartridge, containing 12 @RareLtd classics like Jetpac, Sabre Wulf, Battletoads and... Conker's Pocket Tales!? Yup, it's the first official re-appearance of a not-so-sozzled squirrel since 1999! Details here: https://t.co/Hg8A9dR27f pic.twitter.com/loq2LaIaTf

Rare Collection 1 celebrates 40 years of Rare and is compatible with all of Evercade's devices, including the Super Pocket handhelds that we've reviewed from their sister brand 'HyperMegaTech!' As always, the cartridge will be very reasonably priced at £19.99, $29.99, and €24.99, with pre-orders opening for the collection on the 30th of September.
The collection combines titles from the Spectrum through to the GBA. It's the first time that Spectrum games have appeared on an Evercade cartridge, too, so this is a first in many ways!
