If you loved Pokémon Black & White and Black & White 2, then Pokémon Aether White 2 is going to feel like all of your birthdays have come at once. Over 800 custom trainer battles await in what could be one of the meatiest ROM hacks I've ever come across, with custom weather, custom Pokémon grottos, and much more to discover as you play.
There are 500 Pokémon to capture in Aether White 2, all with custom movesets, and you'll come up against some gnarly double battles like the one with Venusaur and Druddigon below.
This ROM hack comes to us from ely, who has created one of the slickest trailers for a game I've ever seen. You'll see snippets of some of the areas you'll be exploring from Black 2 and White 2, as well as getting information about the game itself, with features like 'no grinding' popping up on the screen, followed by the fact that you can have an unlimited supply of Rare Candy.
No more walking through the undergrowth struggling to make a Kakuna turn into a Beedrill!!
The custom grottos look fun to find, and having 500 new Pokémon learnsets to discover will keep fans of the original games on their toes. As someone wrote in the comments of the video below, 'Oh no, an excuse to play the greatest game of all time again. Whatever will I do?' You might not have had an enhanced version of White 2 on your radar for this week, what with Pokopia and FireRed arriving on Switch 2, but it's certainly going to make your weekend a whole lot busier!
