The PlayDate is, without a doubt, one of the quirkiest consoles in our handheld collection that never fails to put a smile on our faces. It's one we always turn to when we're looking for something different from the Switch or the many ANBERNIC handhelds that we get coming through the door, and always provides innovative, hands-on gameplay thanks to its little turning crank.
I reported a while back that Season 2 of Panic's game release schedule was on its way, and it's finally arrived with new games debuting today and two new titles releasing every week for the next 6 weeks, all for the upgrade price of $39.

Kickstarting the new releases is strategy, arcade shooting game 'Fulcrum Defender' by Subset Games, and fossil excavation title 'Dig Dig Dino!' by Dom2D & Fáyer.
💥 Season Two is OUT NOW! Grab your Playdate and check out the games premiering today. LET'S DO THIS (You can get S2 here: play.date/s2)

'Fulcrum Defender' sees players turning the PlayDate's hand crank to change the direction of a weapons turret, before firing at approaching enemies. 'Dig! Dig! Dino!' on the other hand, is a much more relaxing game, with players 'piecing together whole dinosaur skeletons and analyzing strange artifacts, uncovering lost secrets buried deep underground.'

I know that Panic have had their fair share of unfortunate surprises of late, what with those two shipments of PlayDates going missing, but they've rallied with a great extra surprise for customers downloading the Season 2 pack by including a new 1-bit TV Service to the PlayDate called Blippo+.
According to the PlayDate website, where you can also find a full list of the upcoming games in Season 2, the Blippo+ service is 'Never bland and non-demand. You simply can't find television like this anywhere else. Change the way you channel with Blippo+.'
