In February, the Super Bomberman collection made its way to modern consoles digitally, offering an array of 7 retro Bomberman games for you to explore, a remarkable franchise that many of us have explored and loved. Still not yet shipped, the physical edition is landing on people's laps in August.

But in the meantime, Konami are still updating it and keeping it fresh, with the latest update adding a Japanese exclusive game for customers to explore. That game is Panic Bomber W. "It's a whole different flavour from the usual Bomberman! A puzzle game themed around Bomberman. Attack your opponent with combos and "Big Bombs", states Konami's social posts around the announcement.

Panic Bomber W was exclusively released in Japan in 1995, specifically for the Super Famicom and features more of a puzzle block-falling game style in comparison to others on the list, forcing gamers to line up the same coloured Bomberman heads in order to break the chain and collect points.

It offers both single-player and multiplayer too. It's likely many have never explored it who live outside of Japan, which will no doubt be a nice, refreshing free update for customers on August 20th 2026. Yes, free!
