We've all been there; you've got your evening meal in the pressure cooker, you've finished work for the day, and you're wondering what to do while your food is ready. The answer - play Doom while you wait, obviously.

Yes, it's another day of 'What can Doom run on?' with the retro gaming community never ceasing to amaze me with what they get Doomguy destroying demons on. I've seen it running in a PDF and on the cooler of a Doom-inspired PC, as well as the limited edition box that the game comes in.
And now, a German modder and hacker by the name of Aaron Christophel has managed to get it running on a Krups Cook4Me pressure cooker.
As Aaron explains in the video, the Cook4Me has a digital touchscreen display which, once opened up, reveals a WiFi module and an ESP32, as well as 128MB of both RAM and Flash.

After a successful dump of the ROM and some clever wizardry from Aaron, he managed to put everything back together and have Doom running with touchscreen controls on the front of the cooker. Yes, I think this effectively renders the cookers' main use null and void, but come on, you'd rather cook some demons than a casserole any day of the week, right?

It doesn't look like the easiest way to play, I'm not going to lie, but it's much more convenient than the time I saw someone playing it on a McDonald's order screen, that's for sure!
So, pressure cookers have been ticked off the list of 'What can play Doom?' though I suppose we should probably be thinking 'What can't play Doom?' at this point because it's only a matter of time until someone gets it working on the moon!
Thanks to Aaron for creating this fun little video and for challenging our perception of cookware. Make sure to give him a subscribe and show him some love!
