Don't you just love that while we're all getting excited about new ports of games coming out for next gen consoles, there's also work being done to port games that came out when we were kids to retro consoles no longer in production? The work that the retro gaming community put into keeping old systems and titles alive is amazing, and I've spent some time this afternoon playing the Mega Drive port of Konami's Metal Gear created by Hoffman.
Metal Gear arrived on the Sony MSX2, NES, C64, and MS-DOS back in the day, but it never made it to the Mega Drive. It seems Hoffman is making it their mission to bring Metal Gear to as many old consoles as possible as they've already ported it to the Amiga, modifying that port to create the Mega Drive version that I've been playing on RetroArch.

The controls are simple and you can either use 3 or 6 button mode navigate the game. It plays well, runs well on my Mac, and sits nicely amongst my other Sega ROMs. Whether you're playing on your Phone or Steam Deck, it looks and sounds great, and it's free to download!
